A City Like No Other
Venice is truly a one-of-a-kind place. Just walking around is the main event. It is amazing how a city can function without cars. We loved seeing Piazza San Marco at different times of day; it completely changes. Getting lost is part of the fun.
So Romantic
We had such a lovely time. It's the perfect city to just wander aimlessly with someone. The little bridges and quiet corners are beautiful. We especially liked the Dorsoduro area, which felt a bit more peaceful than the main tourist spots.
Packed with History
The amount of history and art concentrated in one place is staggering. Every building and alley seems to have a story. The Doge's Palace was a highlight, you could really feel the power and wealth of the old republic. It's more than just canals.
More Than Just Crowds
Venice gets busy, but it's easy to escape. Just a few streets away from the main drags, you find quiet squares and real local life. The morning scene at the Rialto Market was great to see, full of locals shopping. The food there looked amazing.
Great Trip with the Family
We found the city pretty easy to navigate using the vaporettos. The kids loved the boat rides! A trip out to Murano to see the glass-making was a big hit and a nice change of pace from the main island. It's a special destination for all ages.
Loved the Local Bars
The best part for me was the bacari culture. Hopping between little wine bars and trying different cicchetti was awesome. Grabbing a cheap glass of wine and a few snacks is such a great way to experience the city. An Aperol Spritz by a canal is a must.
